⚡ Quick Questions
How to Chat with a PDF Document Using AI
-
1
Upload Your PDF: Choose a PDF up to 16MB. Text-based and many scanned PDFs are supported; encrypted, damaged, or unusually structured files may fail. Scanned-page recognition can be incomplete.
-
2
Review the Initial Summary: The first summary is generated from the first two pages. The reader then processes the remaining pages in two-page batches and shows progress in the chat status. The initial summary is not regenerated automatically.
-
3
Ask and Verify: Wait until the status says all pages are processed before asking about later sections. Page references appear only when the response contains a recognizable page number; verify important facts, figures, and legal language in the original PDF.
Key Features
- AI-Powered Document Q&A: Ask natural-language questions about the pages processed so far and compare the answer with the source.
- Optional Page References: Recognized page numbers become links. References are not guaranteed and do not prove that an answer is correct.
- Initial Document Summary: Get a quick overview of the first two pages while the remaining pages process automatically in the background.
- Scanned Document Fallback: The tool may use OCR or visual recognition when selectable text is missing. Recognition quality depends on scan quality, language, layout, and handwriting.
- Built-In PDF Viewer: Read your document side-by-side with the chat. Zoom in and out, scroll through pages, and go fullscreen without leaving the conversation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of PDF documents can I chat with?
Common reports, papers, manuals, ebooks, notes, and many scanned PDFs are supported up to 16MB. Encrypted, damaged, handwriting-heavy, or unusually structured PDFs may not process correctly.
Is my uploaded PDF document kept on your servers?
The PDF is stored temporarily on our server and its processed content may be sent to a third-party AI service. Temporary files are scheduled for deletion after 60 minutes by an hourly cleanup task. Do not upload sensitive or regulated documents.
How accurate are the AI answers about my document?
Answers can be incomplete or wrong, especially for scans, tables, handwriting, ambiguous questions, or pages that have not finished processing. Page references are generated only when recognizable references appear in the answer. Verify important information in the original document.
Can I use this tool to analyze long documents with many pages?
The request must stay within 16MB. After the first two pages, the tool attempts to process remaining pages automatically in two-page batches. Very long or difficult scans can take longer or stop on an error; the initial summary still covers only the first two pages.
